What are most of the Military Statues at stores.maisengraving.com made of?
Most of our products are made using hydrocal plaster which is a type of gypsum-base plaster known for its strength, durability, and smooth finish, commonly used in mold making, casting and various artistic applications. Hydrocal is primarily made from alpha hemihydrate gypsum which is a form of calcium sulfate modified with other additives to improve its properties and strength. This makes it less porous and allows for a smoother surface finish. However, statues made from this product are for indoor use only and should be packed extremely well when shipping them. To prevent damage, wrap statues in several layers of bubble wrap and place them in a sturdy box with ample cushioning material. Remove the wooden base if one is attached because, in our experience, most damage occurs when the wooden bases are left attached. If you have any questions about packing or handling your statue, please don’t hesitate to contact us at joseamaldo@aol.com or call us at 410-674-4998 for personalized assistance.
